Leytonstone GP practices to merge

Two GP practices in Leytonstone are to merge onto one site this summer.

Harrow Road Practice based at Triangle House Health Centre and Thatched House Medical Centre in High Road Leytonstone will both be based at Harrow Road from next month (July).

Patients and staff from the Thatched House Medical Centre will be relocating to the Harrow Road practice on 10 July 2017.

Once the merger takes place, the practices will operate as a single GP practice called ‘Harrow Road Practice’ and will be open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

All of the services that were delivered across the two practices will be delivered via the merged practice on the Harrow Road site.

NHS England has written to all patients registered with both practices about the merger.

The letter includes information on how to re-register with a new practice, should a patient wish to do so.

Drop-in information sessions have been arranged for registered patients on:

  • Monday 12 June between 7pm and 8pm at Triangle House Health Centre (2-8 Harrow Road, E11 3QF)
  • Wednesday 14 June between 12pm and 1pm at Thatched House Medical Centre (136 High Road, Leytonstone, E15 1UA).

Representatives from the practice will be available to answer patients’ questions and to discuss any concerns about the relocation.

The practices themselves requested they merge.

The change has the backing of each practice’s Patient Participation Group and has the approval of NHS Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group to go ahead.

All people living in Waltham Forest are now able to make an appointment to see a GP in the evenings and at weekends. Appointments can only be booked by calling 020 8519 3999.
