Parents and children and young people with special educational needs

Parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities in Waltham Forest are being asked for their views as part of an inspection by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

This joint inspection will assess how well the needs of these children and young people are identified and how effectively those needs are met. CQC and Ofsted inspectors are visiting a range of organisations – including schools, colleges, nurseries and children’s centres – to gather the views of children and their parents.

Waltham Forest CCG Chair Dr Anwar Khan said: “It is really important that as many parents, children and young people as possible give their views so that the inspectors can gain an accurate picture of these important services.

“Inspections such as this provide us and our partners in local government with valuable information that helps us to continually improve our services.”

Those keen to give their views can also contribute via an online webinar which will be held at 7pm on 24 January – register at http://bit.ly/LASENDWathamForest
