Waltham Forest NHS staff take part in charity run
Staff from NHS Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group took part in a running event at the Olympic Park in Stratford on Sunday 12 February to raise funds for Haven House Children’s Hospice and Age UK.
CCG Chief Officer Terry Huff said: "It was a fantastic day, running through the grounds of the Olympic park, past the aquatics centre, velodrome and the stadium itself. We all had a great time and it was good to know we were able to benefit two great charities as well as getting fit ourselves.
"I’m very grateful to all those who took part, whether running five or ten kilometres, walking the distance or even coming just to cheer us on. Exercise has such a great part to play in helping people stay fit and well both physically and mentally.
"We had almost a quarter of staff take part in this month’s run and we are hoping to do this again in the Spring with even more staff volunteering to take part."
Seventeen people represented the CCG on the day, as part of the staff wellness project #staffwellness.
