Information that has been held previously by NHS Barking and Dagenham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), NHS City and Hackney CCG, NHS Havering CCG, NHS Newham CCG, NHS Redbridge CCG, NHS Tower Hamlets CCG and NHS Waltham Forest CCG is transferring to the new CCG, NHS North East London CCG on 1 April 2020.

Equality and diversity

All public sector organisations need to show they comply with the Equality Act 2010. Our approach to this is set out in our Equality and Diversity Strategy.

We consider equality and diversity when developing policies, commissioning services, engaging with the public and recruiting staff, and to do this we:

  • Routinely analyse existing and new policies to ensure there is no unintended negative impact on groups that are protected by the Equality Act 2010. Our Governing Body report cover sheet includes a relevant section.
  • Keep close track of diversity data amongst Waltham Forest patients and our staff so we can build an accurate picture of their current and potential future needs.
  • Use the national equality delivery system (EDS) outcomes framework, which ensures we are complying with our legal duty under the Equality Act 2010, the Human Rights Act and the principles in the NHS Constitution.
