Patient Reference Group (PRG)

The Waltham Forest CCG Patient Reference Group (PRG) ceased to meet in April 2020 following the COVID 19 outbreak.

Arrangements for patient and public engagement in Waltham Forest are being reconsidered in the light of keeping people safe around COVID, and the programme of more integrated care being developed across the various parts of the local NHS, the local authority and community groups.

Meanwhile, local people are encouraged to join the Patient Participation Group (PPG) at their GP practice or sign up to the East London Citizen’s Panel.

The PRG had been in place since 2014 and is part of the CCG’s governance structure. In 2017, there was a review and refresh of the membership to create a network of patient and public involvement across Waltham Forest. The group met regularly and was involved in all stages of the CCG’s work.

There were Patient Participation Group representatives for the three localities of Chingford, Walthamstow, and Leyton and Leytonstone, and representatives of different communities throughout the borough.

A speech-to-text reporter (STTR), hearing loops and meeting papers in different formats were available for meetings, which were held at the wheelchair friendly CCG office.
